Selling Mineral Rights In Louisiana
You Can Sell Louisiana Mineral Rights And Royalties
Louisiana has enjoyed oil and gas production for over 100 years. The first oil field was discovered in Jennings, LA, Jefferson Davis Parish, in 1901. Another interesting factoid is that in 1911, the nation's first "offshore" well was drilled in Caddo Lake, near Oil City, LA in Caddo Parish. Since the early 1900's much of the Louisiana parishes have seen oil or gas production. In the southern part of the state, there are many producing zones and formations. In North Louisiana, the Cotton Valley trend has been a key target for oil and gas companies for many decades. There is a town called Cotton Valley and there is an old oil and gas field there. But all across north Louisiana and into East Texas, the Cotton Valley formation (sandstone / sands) produce here and there.
Now, North Louisiana enjoys a lot of natural gas production from the Haynesville shale. The primary parishes are Caddo Parish, Bossier Parish, DeSoto Parish, Bienville Parish, Red River Parish, Sabine Parish and Natchitoches Parish. Presently, natural gas price is insufficient to cause widespread drilling, so, mineral owners are certainly hoping for a rise in price!
In central Louisiana and the Florida parishes, the Tuscaloosa Marine shale is a new play. The Tuscaloosa Marine Shale (TMS) is primarily crude oil production. Hopefully, another year of drilling will prove it to be commercial, but at present, it is not a certainty it will be a success due to extremely high drilling costs and limited production.
Some mineral owners are interested in selling mineral rights in Louisiana. It's a decision only the mineral owner can make but we are happy to help with the decision. If we buy, we make it an enjoyable process and pay for all closing costs.
Mineral Rights Buying Area (And Producing Royalty/Royalties)
We buy in many areas of Louisiana, but presently our current expansion area of focus in the state is:
There are several oil and gas plays in Louisiana and if your mineral rights happen to lie in the potential fairway in one of these plays, we're interested. These plays include the Cotton Valley trend but also the aforementioned Haynesville shale, Tuscaloosa Marine Shale, the Wilcox play and another unproven concept, the Brown Dense / Lower Smackover play. However, at this time, the Tuscaloosa Marine shale and the Brown Dense play are longshots. It will require quite a few more wells drilled to even determine if these plays are a commercial success.
There are many oil companies in Louisiana (operators) and we will buy mineral rights already leased by companies such as Anadarko, Encana, Shell, Chesapeake, XTO, QEP Questar, Goodrich, Petrohawk (BHP Billiton), Continental, Southwestern Energy, Exco, BP, El Paso, Cabot, Chevron, Comstock, Devon, EOG, Forest, J-W Operating, Matador, Penn Virginia, Sabine and Valence Operating.
Anadarko Petroleum is expanding its drilling operations in central Caddo Parish (some call it North Caddo Parish but it's really central) and we will consider buying mineral rights near the towns of Dixie, Belcher, Sentell, possibly Mooringsport.
If you own mineral rights or royalties in other Louisiana parishes, we might be interested. If your minerals are providing income through oil and/or gas royalties, we can likely make the purchase. We purchase producing mineral rights (royalties) in most areas of the USA; you can enjoy a lump sum cash settlement. Selling mineral rights is a viable option for many.
Our company uses a powerful computer program to calculate the value of mineral / royalty rights. It's not complicated on your end, we just need to get some basic information from you to make the assessment.
NOTE: This is a page for Louisiana mineral rights but we also buy minerals in Texas. In the East Texas Haynesville Shale play area, it includes Harrison County, Panola County, Shelby County, Rusk County, Nacogdoches County, Sabine County, San Augustine County and Angelina County. Perhaps some day we can include Marion county.
